Bocchi the Rock! Recap Part 2 Movie Surpasses 500 Million Yen at the Box Office – Hey there anime fans, the second recap film from the Bocchi the Rock! series, Bocchi the Rock! Re: Re, has achieved a major milestone at the Japanese box office.
As reported by Mantan Web, the movie has earned over 500 million yen (around 3.45 million USD) from selling 330,000 tickets. This success came just four weeks after its release on August 9, 2024.
The success of the First Recap Movie
The first part of the recap, Bocchi the Rock! Re:, which came out on June 7, also passed the 500 million yen mark in just four weeks. It went on to earn 640 million yen (4.47 million USD) with 420,000 tickets sold. Altogether, the two movies have now brought in more than 1.14 billion yen (7.96 million USD) in total.
Kessoku Band’s New Music Release
In addition to the movie’s success, the Kessoku Band released a new EP titled “We Will” today, available digitally ahead of its CD release scheduled for November 6. The album features four songs, each created by members of the band soon. The songs were contributed by musicians like Chiaki Sato (from Kinoko Teikoku), 04 Limited Sazabys, Nobuo Ohki (ACIDMAN), and Shinya Ishihara (Saucy Dog).
Future Releases and Streaming Options
For fans outside Japan, Crunchyroll has plans to bring both recap films to theatres in North America. The Bocchi the Rock! TV anime is also available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
The Story of anime follows:
Hitori Gotoh, nicknamed Bocchi-chan, is a painfully shy and introverted girl who struggles to start conversations. During middle school, she decided to learn the guitar, hoping to one day join a band. Despite practicing for hours every day, she couldn’t make friends and ended up playing alone.
Things start to change in high school when Nijika Ijichi, the drummer of the Kessoku Band, invites her to join their group. Little by little, Bocchi’s life begins to open up as she finds a place where she belongs.
