A Sad Goodbye to a Beloved Voice Actor: Remembering Rachael Lillis – Hey everyone, we’ve got some sad news to share. Rachael Lillis, a super-talented voice actor, passed away on August 10, 2024. She was fighting breast cancer. You might not know her face, but you’ve probably heard her voice. She was famous for playing Misty and Jessie in the English version of Pokémon.

Her Most Famous Roles

Rachael wasn’t just in Pokémon. She played lots of cool characters in other anime shows too. She was Utena in Revolutionary Girl Utena, Kanaka in Genshiken, and Charlotte in a Berserk movie. But for many of us, she’ll always be Misty and Jessie from Pokémon.

Veronica Taylor, another voice actor who played Ash Ketchum in Pokémon, shared the news on social media. Rachael’s sister, Laurie Orr, also told people on a website where they were raising money to help with medical bills.

Veronica Taylor had nice things to say about Rachael. She called her an “extraordinary talent” and a “bright light.” She said Rachael was thankful for all the love and support fans gave her while she was sick.

What’s Next?

Rachael’s family is taking some private time to be sad. They’re planning a memorial for her later, but we don’t know when yet.

Rachael Lillis brought joy to so many people through her voice acting. She helped make our favourite shows and characters come to life. We’re going to miss her, but we’ll always have her amazing performances to remember her by. Thank you, Rachael, for all the great memories.
