Top 10 Romance Anime Where Couple is Married or Engaged

Romance Anime Where Couple is Married or Engaged

Top 10 Romance Anime Where Couple is Married or Engaged – Enough with the whole flirting drama because it’s time to get engaged, married, and spend the rest of your life together. Here are romance anime where the couple is already married or engaged. Well, let’s go to the list.

10. My Wife is the Student Council President!

And another one of these—the title tells everything about this anime. We got a wife who is a student council president. What’s the catch?

Well, the guy hates her, but their parents were friends, so they were engaged. Now Hayato Izumi, a guy who just got a wife, must learn to live with his new wife, spend a married life, and go to high school at the same time. This anime is just pure fan service comedy when you break it down to its bare bones.

So if you go here expecting another Romeo and Juliet, you’re going to be disappointed. But if you go watching this expecting a funny anime about a married couple and the awkward fan service moments they face, then you’re going to love this show.

9. My Wife Has No Emotion

The second anime that starts with the phrase “my wife” is actually about a robot. Yes, you heard that right. In a future you thought was dystopian a couple of years ago but is soon turning into reality, we’ve got robots who come as wives. So they do the cooking, the cleaning—so work addicts like our main character can go to work and come home to a nice cooked meal.

But what happens when our main character starts to fall in love with the robot? This isn’t the first human-robot romance anime to come out, but this is the first human-robot marriage anime to get some attention from us anime folks.

In terms of romance, I think the buildup was slow. But then again, she was a robot who thinks romance is a new concept, so it would be a surprise if the buildup weren’t slow. But at the end of the day, the romance was wholesome and sweet, so I really like this one.

8. I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class

Yes, this feels like a copycat of number 10, but this time both the girl and the boy hate each other. So it’s more of an enemies-becoming-lovers type of story. This is about high school student Saito Houjo, who has married his classmate Akane Sakuramori even though the two hate each other. Now, the two must learn to live under the same roof.

This anime does that whole enemies-to-lovers trope really well. In a lot of cases, the two become a couple way too early, but this one is all about that slow buildup. And the best character of this show for me is Shisei Houjou. Seriously, she’s like that side character who distracts you from the two main characters.

7. Chillin’ in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King’s Army

At first, this anime might look like a copy of Banished from the Hero’s Party, but wait a sec. This time, the main character gets a wife, has a child, and starts a family. Now that alone makes this isekai anime deserve an Oscar. Oh, and the main character? Yeah, he’s your regular generic main character.

There’s a little action tossed in here and there just to remind you that our guy used to be some big-deal Demon King General. But mostly, it’s all chill slice-of-life stuff about a retired demon just trying to relax and live peacefully without wiping out humans.

So if you’re into cozy vibes, a little comedy here and there, light world-building, with a little bit of family drama—this one’s for you.

6. Taisho Otome Fairy Tale

We’ve reached another anime where the wife appears right at your doorstep. Time for the sad, lonely guy to fall in love with the happy, bubbly girl. This dude right here—his life is pretty much the worst. His dad kicks him out, so now he’s stuck living all by himself in this tiny house.

But hey, maybe his dad’s not so bad after all, because he sends a girl to be his wife. Turns out, Dad found him the perfect wife. This story is all about the main guy slowly figuring out that life might actually be worth something with his wife by his side. It’s not your typical high school romance anime either. Instead, it really focuses on building a relationship.

The plot’s not super dramatic or full of crazy love triangles, but if you’re here to watch a lonely, sad dude find happiness with a cheerful girl, this is the one to watch.

5. I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying

This is what happens when a working wife marries an otaku who writes anime blogs for a living. The wife works hard every day and night while our otaku guy wonders about the new anime being released. But trust me, that is done in a wholesome way.

Maybe the moral of the story is how you can also get a hardworking office lady if you try hard enough. This might be a romance-comedy anime, but rather than those generic romcoms about high schoolers with social anxiety, this is about a husband and wife trying to figure out what love means.

Sure, you got married, you got your first kiss—but now what? That’s what this whole anime is about, and honestly, that makes this anime much more special.

4. A Couple of Cuckoos

In the world of anime, logic flies out the window so hard the window breaks from the force. This is about Nagi Umino and Erika Amano, who were switched at birth. When Nagi finds out, he decides to meet his real parents and ends up running into Erika—a girl who decides to pretend to be his girlfriend.

Once their families realize this, they decide to make them an actual couple. This is one of those romance-and-chill sorts of anime that you watch when you get tired of Netflix and chill. Erika might act like your generic tsundere at times, and Nagi’s your generic main character number 1978, but I think the two fit together well to keep the anime interesting.

Like I always say, this anime is here to prove a point—how romance anime can sometimes combine horror elements and still be fun. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s fun.

3. 365 Days to the Wedding

Sometimes, people get engaged for the weirdest reasons. Like, what if your job announces they’re opening a new office super far away, and everyone who’s single has to move there? Yeah, that’s exactly what happens to Takuya and Rika.

So to avoid getting shipped off, they decide to fake an engagement. The catch? They barely know each other, and now they have to convince their co-workers it’s real.

This is honestly one of the sweetest anime to come out in 2024, and I can’t believe it didn’t blow up. It’s all about two quiet, awkward co-workers trying to do stuff that’s totally out of their comfort zone, which makes things so tense and funny. Plus, it’s one of those rare shows that gives equal attention to both the guy and the girl, so no matter who you are, you’ll totally enjoy it.

2. Tonikaku Kawaii

Can a truck accident get you a wife? Of course, it can! When our main character is about to be hit by a truck, he’s saved by a beautiful girl. Being one of the few anime characters with a spine, he proposes to her, and she agrees to marry him once they both turn 18.

Now, this doesn’t mean you should go jump in front of trucks hoping you can marry the girl who saves you, but in the world of anime, it works. I think the reason Tonikaku Kawaii got so popular was because it kept things simple and wholesome. No, there’s no world-ending threat here or some strange love triangle to pick a side over.

It’s about a girl and a boy trying to live together in the same house. Actually, the girl acts normal, like it’s a day-to-day life, but the boy thinks too hard, making situations either awkward or wholesome.

1. My Happy Marriage

We’re finishing off with a traditional romance. If you think your life’s been tough, think again—you haven’t had it as bad as Miyo. She’s a girl who gets treated horribly by her stepmother, stepsister, and even her own dad. Then, she ends up marrying a soldier known for being cold and ruthless.

But is he really the monster everyone says he is? Turns out, nope! He’s actually one of the good guys. Now, I’ll say why I liked it. The problem is, a lot of modern-day romance anime try to cram in as many new romance tropes as possible to keep things engaging. But sometimes, we forget how a simple and well-written romance can still be engaging.

My Happy Marriage has all those tropes you see in old anime—the bad stepmom, the evil-looking but actually good guy, and even the innocent girl who doesn’t whine and scream like a tsundere. And that makes it really good. So go watch it if you haven’t already!
