Aikatsu! Akari Generation Celebrates 10th Anniversary in December 2024 – Hey there anime fans, Bandai Namco Pictures has announced a special event called “Kirakkira!” to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Aikatsu! anime series’ “Akari Generation” arc.
The event will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Yokohama BUNTAI venue in Kanagawa Prefecture. Fans of the series will be treated to exciting activities, including live voice acting, singing performances, and a talk session featuring the cast.
What is the “Akari Generation”?
The “Akari Generation” refers to the second half of the Aikatsu! anime, which introduced Akari Ozora as the new main character. This part of the series started with the 102nd episode, titled “Aikatsu Shiyou☆Ready Go!!,” which first aired in Japan on October 2, 2014.
Akari, who admires the original protagonist Ichigo Hoshimiya, enrolls in Starlight Academy with dreams of becoming an idol. She later forms the group “Luminous” with Sumire Hikami and Hinaki Shinjo and embarks on her unique idol journey.
Event Highlights
The event will bring together six main voice actors and singers who played important roles in the Aikatsu! series. Fans will get to see performances by the following cast:
- Shino Shimoji (voice of Akari Ozora)
- Ruka (Akari’s singing voice)
- Yu Wakui (voice of Sumire Hikami)
- Rie (Sumire’s singing voice)
- Yui Ishikawa (voice of Hinaki Shinjo)
- Miki (Hinaki’s singing voice)
- And more performers for other beloved characters like Juri Kurebayashi and Rin Kurosawa.
Exciting New Collaboration
In addition to celebrating Akari’s legacy, the event will also feature a special collaboration. Akari Ozora will team up with a member of the YouTube project Aikatsu Academy! to perform “Du-Du-Wa DO IT!!,” the first opening song of the “Akari Generation” arc, alongside Meh Mamimu.
