Doraemon’s 44th Anime Feature Film Set for March 2025 Release – Hey there anime fans, the 44th Doraemon movie, titled Doraemon: Nobita no Esekai Monogatari (translated to Nobita’s Picture World Story), is scheduled to hit theatres in Japan on March 7, 2025.
This new adventure takes Doraemon and his friends into a medieval European world brought to life through pictures. The official teaser trailer has introduced three original characters for the film: Claire, Mairo, and Chai.
Directed by Yukiyo Teramoto
Yukiyo Teramoto will direct the film, marking her return to the Doraemon franchise after 12 years. Teramoto made history as the first female director of a Doraemon film back in 2007 with Doraemon: Nobita’s New Great Adventure into the Underworld. Satoshi Ito, a familiar name for Doraemon fans, is responsible for the screenplay, having written for several previous films in the series.
A Story for All Ages
Teramoto expressed her excitement about returning to direct Doraemon. She shared that while the movie’s theme revolves around art, the story is not difficult to understand and is designed to be enjoyable for both kids and adults. She promised a mix of laughter, emotions, action, and mystery, making it an exciting adventure for all.
The success of Previous Film
The previous film in the Doraemon series, Doraemon: Nobita’s Earth Symphony, was released on March 1, 2024. It was a huge success, earning 3.8 billion yen (about 26.12 million USD) by mid-April with over 3.21 million people watching it in theatres.
Fans of Doraemon can look forward to another thrilling adventure as they dive into the world of pictures with their favourite characters next March.
