Story and Concept
Set in the year 2099, Virgin Punk follows a young bounty hunter named Ubu. With designs and concepts crafted by Umetsu himself, the anime promises to deliver a thrilling and futuristic adventure. While much of the story is still under wraps, fans can expect the first part of the anime, titled Clockwork Girl, to premiere at Cine Libre Ikebukuro and Theatre Umeda in Osaka by early summer 2025.
Production Team
The production team for Virgin Punk features a strong lineup. Directed by Yasuomi Umetsu, known for his work on Kite and Mezzo Forte, the anime will be produced by the renowned studio Shaft, famous for the Monogatari Series.
The series composition and scriptwriting are handled by Yuya Takahashi, who previously worked on Lupin the 3rd. The main animators include Genichiro Abe, Shinya Takahashi, and Maho Kando.
The art design is by Shinichi Yokota, with art directors Yuji Honjo and Yuki Funagakure. Yasuko Watanabe will oversee colour design, and the photography directors are Takayuki Aizu and Rei Egami. Rie Matsubara serves as the editor, and Shoji Hata takes on the role of sound director. Yoshiaki Dewa, known for Hell’s Paradise, will compose the music.
