Ruri Rocks TV Anime Drops First Teaser Trailer and Visual – Hey, there anime fans, the upcoming anime Ruri Rocks (also known as Ruri no Houseki in Japan) has just unveiled its first teaser trailer at Aniplex Online Fest 2024. Along with the trailer, a new visual was revealed, giving fans their first look at what’s to come. Key staff and cast members were also announced.
Cast Members
The anime will feature two lead cast members:
- Ruri Tanigawa is voiced by Miyari Nemoto (known for her role as Sazanka in In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki).
- Nagi Arato is voiced by Asami Seto (who played Mai Sakurajima in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai).
Background of the Series
This anime is based on the manga by Keiichirou Shibuya, which follows the journey of two women fascinated by the science of mineralogy.
The manga has been serialized in Kadokawa’s Harta magazine since August 2019, with the fifth volume released in Japan on September 13, 2024.
Production Team
Ruri Rocks is directed by Shingo Fuji (from ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister!) and is produced by Studio Bind. The series composition is written by Michiko Yokote (Shirobako), while the character designs are handled by Mayu Fujii (animation director for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation).
The sound direction is led by Kohei Yoshida (Delicious in Dungeon), with music composed by Daisuke Achiwa and Kazuki Yanagawa, both known for their work on Atelier Ryza. The production is overseen by EGG FIRM, and the anime is set for a 2025 release.
Story Overview
Ruri Rocks tells the story of Ruri, a high school student who has a love for jewellery. Her world takes a new turn when she meets Nagi, a graduate student passionate about mineralogy. Inspired by Nagi’s studies, Ruri dives into the fascinating world of mineral collecting, sparking an exciting new chapter in her life.
