Tono to Inu: A New Anime About a Warrior and His Dog – Hey there, anime fans. There’s a new show coming our way called Tono to Inu. It’s based on a funny comic book by Rie Nishida. The story takes place way back in Japan’s Warring States period.
It’s about a guy named Tono who used to be a super scary warrior. But now, he’s broke and lives in a cheap apartment. One day, he finds a dog and takes it home. The dog doesn’t listen to Tono at all and just does whatever it wants.
When Can We Watch It?
Mark your calendars for October 2024. That’s when Tono to Inu will start showing on TV in Japan. Don’t worry if you’re not in Japan, these shows usually end up online pretty quickly.
They’ve picked four different people to play Tono:
- Akio Otsuka (you might know him as Batou from “Ghost in The Shell”)
- Tomokazu Sugita (he was Gintoki in “Gintama”)
- Masaki Aiba (he’s from a famous boy band called Arashi)
- Shunsuke Takeuchi (he played Alexander Yamato in “KING OF PRISM”)
They’re keeping it a secret about how these four will share the role. We’ll have to wait to find out more.
The Comic Book Behind the Show
Before it became a TV show, Tono to Inu was a comic book. It started small with just four chapters on a website in March 2021. People liked it so much that they made it into a regular series in October 2021. So far, they’ve made three books of the comic, and the fourth one is coming out on October 15, 2024.
The people making the show just released a cool picture to get us excited. It’s called a key visual, and it probably shows Tono and his troublemaking dog.
So, if you like funny stories, historical settings, or just disobedient dogs, Tono to Inu might be the show for you. It’s still a while before it comes out, but that gives us plenty of time to get hyped.
